JOB DESCRIPTION:
Assist in the administration of collective bargaining agreements involving marine and shoreside unionized employees.
Assist management with employee discipline and performance issues.
Investigate employee and or third-party complaints.
Participate in grievance hearings, arbitrations and contract negotiations.
Work with Payroll Department to ensure payrolls and benefit contributions are administered correctly.

Requirements |
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Minimum two years experience dealing with blue-collar organized labor.
Bachelor's degree in Management and Operations, Labor and Industrial Relations or related degree required.
Leadership; written and verbal communications skills.
Recent experience with interviewing and investigating employee or third-party complaints.
Ability to work in multi-union environments.
Aptitude for improving work processes and/or practices.
Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time that vary in nature and scope.
Intermediate to advanced level PC Proficiency in MS Word Excel and PowerPoint (testing will be conducted).
Office:
Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature extremes, etc.
Field:
Ability to Board vessels while underway via smaller vessels or launches. May require climbing pilot ladders and/or regular ladders.
Ability to board vessels moored at docks via gangway or ladders.
While on board vessel, ability to climb stairs or ladders. May be exposed to excessive noise, dust or temperature extremes.
General:
Extended use of computer keyboard and viewing computer monitor.
Ability to work long hours and travel as required.
Must comply with all company policies, procedures and guidelines.
